Forest Pennant Paving, Cladding & Architectural Masonry
A suite of Forest Pennant products, cladding and architectural masonry, were used to create The Hive, an integrated library, history centre and archive. We supplied vertical strip cladding for the innovative island, a solid structure topped by three Scots pines and our landscaping products work to complement the stark lines of the building and the striking gold of the roofline, comprising of seven copper alloy clad funnels.
Forest Pennant Sandstone was selected due to its versatility and future-proof qualities; processed using green electricity by the company's micro hydro turbine, being a native, British natural stone and within 50 miles of the new development. Sustainability is one of the ten key values attributed to The Hive.
