Forest Pennant Paving, Setts & Treads
Originally constructed in the 13th century, Sherborne House, a Grade I listed building with historical significance, has been meticulously restored and enhanced. This complex task required balancing the preservation of its historical past with a vision for the future use. Spase Architects, led by Stefan Pitman, have successfully designed and transformed the Georgian mansion and its grounds into an arts and cultural venue. The success of the restoration project has resulted in Sherborne House being removed from the heritage at risk register.
The restoration project was driven by the principles of utilising local, traditional, and sustainable materials, as well as local craftsmanship. We supplied our mixed colour Forest Pennant paving, setts & treads for the terrace area at the front of the building. The installation was carried out by the team from Farmington Masonry.

This project also incorporated Purbeck vintage blend brushed & tumbled paving and setts from Lovell Stone Group, our sister group of quarries.
The Sherborne restoration project won a 2024 Georgian Award for Restoration of a Georgian Building in an urban setting.
