5,500 square metres of Forest Pennant Paving & Setts restores historical central courtyard
Forest of Dean Stone Firms supplied Hardscape with 5,500 square metres of Forest Pennant paving and setts for the central courtyard at Grade I listed Piece Hall in Halifax. The regeneration project was to restore the central courtyard to its former glory, and it was essential that materials were sourced to be sympathetic with the original design of the main building.

We supplied Hardscape with Forest Pennant paving @ 450 x 65 x R/L and 600 x 65 x R/L, then setts in two formats, the first being 100mm cubes, and in 150mm wide setts with hand fettled edges to give the appearance of a traditional tumbled sett, all in mixed colour and with a diamond sawn finish.
Our high-quality Pennant sandstone paving and setts tied in perfectly with the original eighteenth century design and met the requirements of the brief.
