Bespoke Medals for Mad Dog Jog Winners

Published: 17th May 2016

We were approached by organiser, Barb Harrison to create and donate medals for the Mad Dog Jog and a Half event, a half marathon run by humans with their dogs for company!  The activity is commonly known as canicross.

Barb was keen to provide medals that were not only bespoke but local to the Forest of Dean as runners come from all over the country to take part.  Having agreed the design we worked with Woodford Engineering in Lydney who waterjet cut each piece of Pennant sandstone, there were 37 medals in total!  We infilled the paw print and number using black resin before spinning them down to create a matt finish.

The winning man and dog team completed the half marathon in an astonishing 1h 13m.  The event raised £1000 for Breast Cancer Now and £600 for Cheltenham Animal Shelter.

Event organiser Barb Harrison said: “Big thank you to Forest of Dean Stone Firms.  Please pass our thanks to your MD Nick Horton for agreeing the sponsorship, to your team who made the fabulous trophies and to Holly for arranging everything!”
