1st April (and no it wasn’t an April Fools!) saw our director, Marcus Scott Russell drive off into the sunset to start his retirement. With a wave from the window of his beloved Jag’ and his Jack Russell, Molly sat beside him Marcus’ retirement marks the end of an era.
A director for five decades, Marcus contributed humour, joie de vivre and enthusiasm. Very much a people person he handled our walk-in customers with aplomb.
A member of the Scott Russell family, t<a href="http://www.fodstone.co blog link.uk/about/about-us/”>he saviours of the original Stone Firms company, Marcus purchased the business with our managing director, Nick Horton in 2003. Their investment was a new beginning, a distinct turning point in the future of the business; modernisation and expansion quickly followed.
To commemorate his retirement we gifted him an original 12ft split cane fly rod.
